Automatic water-saving irrigation

If the soil moisture is sufficient, your Water Control will not start at all - so you save water and still have beautiful and healthy plants. Together with a GARDENA Water Control, the Soil Moisture Sensor can control the irrigation automatically depending on the soil moisture.

Flexible placement

Whether it's a flower bed, lawn or even plant pots: thanks to its small and compact size and the five-metre long connection cable, the Soil Moisture Sensor can be placed almost anywhere in the garden. Thanks to its low height and flat top, the sensor can even be installed in lawns without disturbing the mowing process.

01889-20-L-006

Precise settings

You can set your preferred moisture level on the Water Computer that is connected to the Soil Moisture Sensor. The measured soil moisture level will be shown on the display using water droplets. If using the GARDENA Bluetooth® Water Computer, you can view the settings and readings on the app.

01867-20-L-010

Secure and reliable operation

Low battery power is indicated on both the Water Control and the LED in the battery compartment. This allows you to replace the battery in time and ensures continued reliable operation.

01867-20-S-004

Flexible positioning

The five-metre long connection cable allows flexible placement of the Sensor and extension cables can be added as required (sold separately).

01867-20-L-006

Proven reliable measuring principle

The Soil Moisture Sensor measures the soil moisture according to a proven electrothermal measuring principle. The metal tip, which is enclosed in felt, heats up and calculates the degree of soil moisture based on the cooling time—reliably and accurately.

Description

Keeps soil at the perfect moisture level

The GARDENA Soil Moisture Sensor uses electrothermal measuring technology to determine the moisture level of the soil and works in conjunction with GARDENA water computers and irrigation valves to determine and deliver optimal watering quantities. When the soil moisture sensor detects that the soil has reached the desired moisture level, the automatic irrigation system will not be started, or an ongoing irrigation will be interrupted – in this way you can save water and still have beautiful and healthy plants. Its improved sleek design can be almost entirely inserted into the ground, leaving only 20mm above the ground, eliminating issues with robotic and conventional lawnmowers. The sensor uses electrothermal measuring technology to determine the moisture level of the soil and provides feedback to the water computer. A 5 meter cable is included and can be buried underground keeping it safe from lawnmower blades and eliminating it as a tripping hazard. A 10 meter extension cable (1868-20) can also be purchased separately and, when combined, allows the placement of the sensor up to 105 meters away from the water computer or valve. It requires only 2 AA batteries to operate and a battery level warning is displayed both in the battery compartment of the sensor and on the water computer.Made from UV stabilised material and tested to the equivalent of 3 years of Australian sunshine, it is rated to 1200 kPa, made in Germany and comes with a 2-year warranty.
