Long narrow passages with 60 cm width (boundary wire to boundary wire) where a guide wire is installed can be mowed by the CorridorCut function easily. Long narrow passages without a installed guide wire should be have a width of minimum 1,5 meter.

The minimum width consists of several factors. First of all, the minimum distance between the boundary cables must be 60 cm. Additionally to this the distance to an obstacle must be considered and also added to the minimum distance of 60 cm from one boundary cable to the other.

Example: Minimum width between two house walls for a SILENO city

  • Distance between house wall and boundary cable on both sites: 35 cm
  • Minimum distance: 35 cm + 60 cm + 35 cm = 130 cm

In the operation manual you can find exact model specific information regarding distances, dependent on the type of obstacle.

The GARDENA SILENO Life 750 installation kit includes 200 metres of loop wire, 300 pegs, 5 connectors and 4 couplers. This will cover the set-up of an area measuring up to 750 m².

The actual wire used for the boundary and guide wire is the same. The boundary wire refers to the length of wire that surrounds the mowing area and confines the Robotic Lawnmower within it.

The guide wire is the length of wire that the Robotic Lawnmower seeks and follows when its battery charge is starting to get low. It is connected to the boundary wire and leads the Robotic Lawnmower to the charging station.

If the work area consists of two areas between which the Robotic Lawnmower cannot move freely, it is advisable to create a secondary area by laying an independent boundary wire. In this application, the Robotic Lawnmower is carried by hand between the main area and the secondary area. Using the operating mode MAN / secondary area, the Robotic Lawnmower then mows the secondary area until the charge runs out. The Robotic Lawnmower is then carried back to the charging station in the main area for charging.

You will find more information on secondary areas on page 16 of the owner’s manual.

The area in front of the charging station is a high-traffic location. The Robotic Lawnmower should be able to start in any directions and return to the charging station from any direction. For the SILENO Minimo 250, preferably the charging station should be placed outside the lawn such as a garden bed that is level with lawn, with 2 metres clear in front of the charging station.

For further information, see section "How to install the charging station for the GARDENA Robotic Lawnmower" in the operating instructions.

If you register your Robotic Lawnmower within 3 months of purchase, the warranty will be extended by an extra year therefore covering your purchase for 3 years in total (wear parts and battery excluded).

You can also obtain a recovery PIN code from GARDENA Customer Service once a security check verifying that you are the registered owner of the specific product has been performed. Note that the SILENO Minimo 250 comes with a factory set PIN code which is visible and can be changed on the GARDENA Bluetooth® app.

Mowing the grass too low right after the installation can damage the wire insulation. Damage to the insulation may not cause disruptions until several weeks or months later. To avoid this, always select the maximum cutting height during the first weeks after installation and then lower the height one step at a time every second week until the desired cutting height has been reached.

Breaks in the loop wire are usually the result of unintentional physical damage to the wire such as when gardening with a shovel or due to the wire being stretched excessively during installation. It can also be caused by mowing too low right after installation.

It is easy to fix the break once found. The damaged section must simply be replaced with a new wire and connected using original GARDENA couplers. To find the break when the wire is buried, simply follow the comprehensive step-by-step instructions on page 47 of the owner’s manual. Remember to make sure that ECO mode is turned off.

The blades must be kept in good condition in order to obtain the best mowing results. Although keeping your lawn free of stones, branches and other objects will keep the blades sharp longer, they will need to be changed approximately every 6-12 months depending on usage. When changing blades, it is important to only use GARDENA blades and screws and in order to maintain balance, all three blades must be changed at once.

The GARDENA Bluetooth® app is compatible with all GARDENA SILENO Robotic Lawnmowers.

There is no need to update your Robotic Lawnmower’s software. Simply download the GARDENA Bluetooth® app, pair it with your mower and you are connected!

The app can easily be downloaded from the App store for Apple devices and Google Play for Android devices. The app minimum device software requirements are iOS software 12.0 or later for iPhones and 5.0 and up for Android devices.

The app takes care of all the programming and monitoring functions of your Robotic Lawnmower. If you are within 10 metres of the mower, you can make changes to the program without having to bend down or get wet in the event of rain.

If you are experiencing issues with pairing, go through the checklist below and try again.
If the issue persists, please call our customer service department for assistance.

• Check you have downloaded the GARDENA Bluetooth® app on your device and are within 10 metres of the mower.
• Check that Bluetooth® is switched on in your device settings.
• If you already have the GARDENA Bluetooth® app downloaded, check that you have the latest version of the app downloaded.
• Try closing the Bluetooth® app on your device, re-opening the app, and press ‘+’ to add your SILENO mower.
• Switch your SILENO mower off and on again on the mower itself; you then have three minutes to connect the mower to the Bluetooth® app (3 minutes in connection mode).
