Question by Sandra
Hi,
how can I downsize my frangipanis for the best flower growth and will I get flowers next season?
Sarah's answer
Hi Sandra,
The best time to prune frangipanis is in winter or early spring after the leaves have fallen, this should maintain the flower cycle. However, there may be some loss of blooms this season if you are doing a drastic prune.
Don’t overdo it. Avoid pruning more than 10% of the plant to ensure the plant stays healthy. Good pruning will result in new side shoot branches and remember to use clean sharp tools.
Cheers,
Sarah
