Garden tools should be stored in a dry place to ensure they are protected against weather damage. Tools should be cleaned regularly to prevent corrosion and to ensure they remain ready for operation at all times.
Correct storage over winter
Gasoline-powered tools are best shut down with a full tank to prevent contamination of the fuel. For battery-operated devices, the battery should be stored separately in the house.
To prevent garden tools from rusting in winter and to ensure they look like new again in spring, treat them with oil where possible: Using a soft cloth, coat the cleaned equipment with a very thin film of oil (use maintenance oil).
