Introduction
GARDENA Deutschland Manufacturing GmbH is committed to making its websites and mobile applications accessible, in accordance with national legislation transposing Directive (EU) 2019/882 of the European Parliament and of the Council. The standards to be complied with are derived from harmonised standards of the European Union for accessibility, currently the EN 301 549 collection, which refers to the global standards of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). Three levels of conformity must be observed: Level A, Level AA and Level AAA. Our Goal is to be compliant with Level AA.

The sites and applications mentioned are not compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.2, Level AA) and the European Standard of Accessibility requirements for ICT products and services (EN 301 549). Any non-compliances and exemptions are listed below.
Non-accessible content
We are continuously working to identify and remove any remaining barriers. It is therefore possible that this content is not completely accessible everywhere on the website. The content listed below is shows the remaining barriers, with a reference to the corresponding Guideline from the WCAG
- 1.1 Text Alternatives: Provide text alternatives for any non-text content so that it can be changed into other forms people need, such as large print, braille, speech, symbols or simpler language.
- Not all Icons or Controls, have an Alternative Text or suitable ARIA-Labels
- Not all Images and Non-text Objects have a alternative
- Sometimes the alternative text is only available in English, not in the local language
- In some cases decorative images don't have an empty Alt-Text
- 1.2 Time-based Media: Provide alternatives for time-based media.
- Videos don't have a Text-Alternative, Audiodescription or Audioexplanation available.
- 1.3 Create content that can be presented in different ways (for example simpler layout) without losing information or structure.
- The semantic markup of our HTML structure is partly inconsistent
- Some forms, e.g. Newsletter signup are missing the Autocomplete Attribute, which usually helps to clarify the intended purpose of the field.
- 1.4 Make it easier for users to see and hear content including separating foreground from background.
- Some elements of our Website fall short of the necessary contrast ratio for text.
- In some cases using a screen resolution of 320px (or 400% Zoom with 1280 px) can lead to a loss of form or function due to overlapping images.
- 2.1 Make all functionality available from a keyboard.
- Some functionality of our website is not available from a keyboard
- 2.4 Provide ways to help users navigate, find content, and determine where they are.
- The Breadcrumb on our Website is not optimized for screen reader usage.
- Content, that is loaded dynamically to the website is not optimized for screen reader usage.
- Some internal Links don't provide enough context or hints about the target content.
- The position of the focus is not always visible.
- 2.5 Make it easier for users to operate functionality through various inputs beyond keyboard.
- The MyGarden Planning Application can only be operated with a mouse, as they require drag-and-drop movement.
- The control elements of our sliders are smaller than the minimum target size.
- 3.1 Make text content readable and understandable.
- In some areas of our website we use English expressions, even if the rest of the page is in a different language.
- 3.2 Make web pages appear and operate in predictable ways.
- During the Checkout there is an unexpected change in focus when entering contact information
- 3.3 Help users avoid and correct mistakes.
- Some Forms, like the Store locator does not have proper validation of the input.
- 4.1 Maximize compatibility with current and future user agents, including assistive technologies.
- Our HTML Syntax is not without error.
- Some elements are missing proper ARIA-Labels, which provide context for screen readers. In some cases the name, role or value is only available in English.
- Changes to the Context of a site, e.g. when a Popup appears or in error messages of a form, is not reflected programmatically.
