About PFAS
What are PFAS?
PFAS are often referred to as 'perpetual chemicals' because they are very poorly degradable in the environment. The group of per- and polyfluorinated alkyl compounds (PFAS) comprises around 10.000 compounds and ranges from very short compounds to polymers such as PTFE.
Why is it important to avoid PFAS?
PFAS are present in our everyday lifes, for example in the form of the coating of pans or outdoor clothes. However, PFAS have spread worldwide in the environment and are absorbed by the human body in small quantities through food and drinking water. Harmful effects on health and the environment have already been proven for a number of compounds.
Regulatory Compliance
PowerCoating does not contain any of the PFAS regulated by the European REACH Regulation No 1907/2006 Annex XVII and POP Regulation No 2019/1021 or known as REACH SVHC´s (substances of very high concern).
PowerCoating was analysed by an independent test laboratory for 51 state-of-the-art compounds (DEKRA Automobil GmbH, test report number PB2557731).
