When should I fertilise my roses?

Question submitted by FAQ

I have planted new roses. Should I fertilise them immediately after the planting? Or should I wait a while until they are fully grown?

The answer

It is better when the roses first can build roots on their own. Without fertilisers, the plant roots will go deeper into the soil looking for nutrition. After six to eight weeks, you can fertilize your roses with 30 g/m² complex fertiliser.
