Lynda Hallinan and Justin Newcombe take questions from a school gardening group at Hamilton Gardens, during filming of the new series.

Premium gardening brand GARDENA is supporting Choice TV’s popular Get Growing series for the third year running.

New Zealand’s favourite garden and outdoor show is returning for its fifth series this spring and GARDENA’s high quality gardening products will be used exclusively throughout the series.

The first half hour episode of the 10-part series will air on Friday 23rd September at 9:30pm on Choice TV (Freeview channel 12 and SKY channel 24).

Gardening guru Lynda Hallinan and landscaping expert Justin Newcombe return as hosts and, along with the Roadshow team, will travel the country to lend their expertise, answer questions and give tips and practical advice to fellow garden enthusiasts.

Hallinan told stuff.co.nz that the show is similar to the beloved ‘Antiques Roadshow’. “But people don’t bring us their antique silver, instead they bring us their rusty roses,” says Hallinan.

Along the way the Roadshow team will stop off at garden centres and inspirational gardens such as Hamilton Gardens and the garden of Mt Eden’s Peter Brady whose Dr Seuss-like garden is sure to wow viewers.

During the series the Roadshow team will introduce viewers to the Lambourne family whose bare property will be completely revamped over the course of the series into an amazing family-friendly outdoor living space.

Fans of the show also have the chance to win a GARDENA prize pack valued at $1,000 featuring many of the GARDENA products featured on the show, such as the Comfort Wall-Mounted Li-ion Hose Reel, Polo Sprinkler, Comfort Bypass Secateurs, Rose Gatherer, Comfort Bypass Pruning Lopper, Terraline Pointed Spade, Terraline Spading Fork, Classic Multi Sprayer, Classic Spray Wand, combisystem Cultivator, combisystem Bow Rake and the combisystem Wooden Handle. To enter the draw people simply have to purchase a GARDENA product before 31 October. GARDENA products are available from all major hardware stores and garden centres.
