Giving the garden a cutting edge

Clearly trimmed lawn edges are not only beautiful, but useful as well.

A clean separation between lawn and garden beds prevents the grass from spreading to the neighbouring beds and thus hindering the growth of useful and decorative plants in the beds.

A clean edge

For a smooth lawn edge, the turf is severed along the bed edge using a lawn edge trimmer. The excess pieces of lawn are then removed from the soil to be disposed of. A bed edge comprising edge stones offer the possibility of a permanent separation between the bed and lawn.

Expert tip

For a straight bed edge, it is advisable to mark off the edge to be trimmed using a long plank or length of string.
