GARDENA with sales subsidiary in Greece
GARDENA AG, Ulm / Germany, continues its internationalization and is now represented with an own sales subsidiary in Greece.
This is the result of the complete acquisition of the longtime dis-tribution partner by the company on January 8th, 2007. The company located in Athens will keep its name Agrokip-Psomadopoulos S.A. The previous owner George Psomado-poulos (57) will stay in the position of the alone general man-ager. Agrokip has been representing the brand GARDENA on the Greek market since 1979.
"By an own sales subsidiary on-site we can ensure a consistend presence of the brand and quaility of service in the European context," explains Regional Director Tobias M. Koerner this step.
Traditionally, GARDENA as the only brand supplier has a high market share, especially for irrigation computers and for the Micro-Drip-System. This is being favored by the hot climate and the rising demand for automatic irrigation systems. "We see a high potential for growth in Southern Europe and can observe that also the DIY channel of distribution is expanding further," explains Koerner.
Already in the previous financial year (until September, 30th) own subsidiaries in Russia and Slovenia have been founded.
