Toronto, ON (February 8, 2006) - Although Canadians may still be enduring the cold winter season, GARDENA Canada Ltd., the Canadian subsidiary of Europe's leading home and garden equipment company, is already looking ahead to spring, because it won’t be long before it will be time to get ready, get set...garden!
And this year, gardening will be easier and more enjoyable than ever with the introduction of a range of new and innovative GARDENA products.
GARDENA Canada is pleased to introduce its revolutionary steerable lawnmower to the Canadian market. GARDENA's new Cordless 24V Accu Steerable Lawnmower promises an entirely new mowing experience that will take the effort out of mowing the lawn.
The completely new lawn-mowing sensation features a swivelling telescopic handle that can be adjusted to the user's height, and comes complete with a steering wheel. Featuring GARDENA's patented steering gear technology, the new mower offers maximum manoeuvrability, allowing users to mow around obstacles such as bushes, trees and flowerbeds effortlessly. Plus, the swivelling steering handle enables users to walk next to the lawnmower and easily and cleanly mow along fences, hedges and bushes.
"GARDENA is committed to the development, design and production of innovative and high-quality gardening tools and systems," says Jay Sterling, managing director of GARDENA Canada. "That's why we are so excited to introduce our new steerable lawnmower to the Canadian market. When we were developing our steerable mower, we consciously broke with conventional ideas. The result is an entirely new lawnmower unlike any other Canadians have ever been offered."
The new mower is also easy to transport and store. Thanks to its quick-fold mechanism, the steerable mower can simply be folded up, effortlessly transported by the handle shaft and compactly stored away.
Among its range of new products, GARDENA is also pleased to introduce a selection of its pruning loppers and hedge clippers which feature GARDENA's new Technogel(R) gel pads and/or patented geared cutting mechanism.
Technogel(R) gel pads integrated into the handle shells guarantee the unique handling of the new GARDENA Comfort Hedge Clippers. The gel pads and special buffers with soft plastic components ensure an optimum shock-absorbing effect and fatigue-free cutting. The new Comfort Hedge Clippers are also extremely lightweight and feature wide and stable, non-stick coated blades, making the clippers easy to use and clean.
GARDENA's Comfort Pruning Lopper 500 BL for fresh wood and the Comfort Anvil Lopper 500 AL for hard, dry wood are ultra-light and particularly stable with their fibre-glass reinforced plastic arms and ergonomically optimum shape. They also feature GARDENA's new patented gear transmission for up to 38 per cent increased cutting power. Branches with a thickness of up to 35 millimetres can be cut without applying great deal of force. In addition, the product's double-end stops help protect the user's wrists while pruning.
"GARDENA understands that regardless of age, all gardeners can benefit from safe and easy-to-use ergonomic tools," says Mr. Sterling. "We are proud to continue to offer products designed with the consumer's safety and comfort in mind and we can't wait for them to discover and enjoy our range of new and innovative products offerings."
