When the long, grey winter finally comes to an end, gardeners begin to long for radiant blossoms to brighten up their garden. Some gardeners begin the spring season enthusiastically by treating their lawn to a special regenerating treatment at the start of the new gardening season. Spring is here and the garden comes to life. Garden-lovers busy themselves distributing fertiliser, preparing the soil, sewing seeds in flowerbeds and vegetable patches, rearranging or purchasing plants, pruning trees and hedges and so many other important gardening tasks. This is pleasure rather than work for avid gardeners. Landscaping and preparing the garden is one of the most pleasant and satisfying hobbies around. Plenty of fresh air and exercise in the great outdoors is also an excellent way to shake off any lethargy brought on by the winter.
There are so many jobs gardeners just cannot avoid in the spring such as turning over the soil, planting one-year old shrubs, sewing vegetables and flowers, cutting back branches, removing fertilisers and blossoms from last season, aerating the lawn - the list goes on and on. Before you begin transferring young plants to your garden or sewing seeds, you should consider which is the best place for the plants. Base this decision on the amount of space and the soil quality the plant requires. Does the plant prefer a sunny or shaded location? And finally where would you prefer to see the plant? Make sure you take time to think about these things, as well as about the colour of the blossoms and when the plant flowers.
With the GARDENA combisystem or combimax tools at their side, gardeners are well equipped to tackle gardening jobs in the spring. Remember that the best time to transfer new plants to your garden is on a cloudy day rather than a sunny day. Why not treat your lawn to a little TLC with the GARDENA Aerator? Spring is also the time to put fertiliser on your garden for the first time this year.
No gardener can avoid watering and fertilising the garden. The soil and plants need plenty of nutrients and water now at the start of the season. Each gardener must decide which tools and products to use for irrigation and fertilising his or her garden. The classic way to water your lawn, vegetable patches and flowerbeds is using a sprinkler. The new GARDENA models, with names such as Samba, Mambo and Tango are sure to dance their way into every gardener's heart. These GARDENA sprinklers will help you and your garden beat the summer heat.
Spring is also time to prune back roses and some other shrubs and bushes. You will be rewarded for your efforts with beautiful neat plants, new and strong shoots and a sea of radiant blooms.
Let's get cracking! Spring is here!
