Many garden owners would like a water feature but their garden is simply too small to accommodate a pond, especially if they live in a newly developed residential area. Moreover, families with small children are often afraid that their children could have an accident in the pond. That's why GARDENA has created the Stream Set as an attractive solution for all gardeners who find themselves in this situation.
This realistic imitation stream set with its own water circuit will give your garden a personal touch. The complete set, which is available either with or without Path Lights from the GARDENA lightline System, is easy to install. The set includes all the materials and parts you will need to create your very own stream:
1. High-quality stream lining
2. 50-litre water reservoir
3. Decorative source stone
4. Three meter long spiral hose and
5. Pump (maximum delivery capacity 2,000 litres an hour).
How does the installation work? First you should choose a suitable place in your garden for your new stream and mark out the area. Ideally, you should have room for a stream around two meters long and approximately 30 to 40 centimetres wide. If you have a natural slope in your garden you can include this when planning where to install your stream otherwise you can use the soil you will remove from the ground when you dig the trench for the hose to create the incline for your pond.
You will need to dig out a hole to accommodate the water reservoir and the hose, preferably using a combimax Spade. Then fill the reservoir with water, connect the pump, hose and source stone and cover the hose with the soil you previously removed from the ground. Arrange the stream lining over the top and you can then begin landscaping the areas around the edges of the stream with boulders and plants.
If your Stream Set includes lightline Path Lights, you can also install additional lights for attractive, idyllic stream lighting. The lightline lights are quite safe for children and pets since they operate with safe 12-volt low voltage.
